Nokia MID and Nautilus


Well, that was just a rumor, this is a confirmation. Nokia launches two notebook-based Linux phone for the time being the code name MID and Nautilus. One of them will be Internet Tablet and the second smartphone slim.



Nokia MID can be used as an Internet Tablet, and will include display of 4.2 inches touchscreen and a slide-out keyboard. Nokia MID is expected to appear on the market in Quarter 4, before Christmas. Another device is code-named Nautilus, and has a very slim design with touchscreen, and everything with the keyboard slide-out QWERTY. A sensor is used to extend and withdraw ultrasubtire keypad and includes a great innovation that allows each key to get up for a more comfortable typing. Nokia Nautilus is expected to appear on the market sometime in 2010.


According to the Street.com one of them is what Nokia used to call Internet Tablet, will have a 4.2” touchscreen and “hidden slide-out keyboard. This Nokia MID is expected to ship in Q4, before Christmas.


Another device, codenamed Nautilus, has a very slim touchscreen design, but still sports slide-out QWERTY keyboard. A sensor is used to extend and withdraw keyboard, the keypad itself is ultrathin and features keys that rise up for easier typing. Nokia Nautilus is expected sometime in 2010.


New devices based on Linux platform, most likely, will be disclosed at the end of summer with a big launch event will take place in Germany.
